O.K. Reminded by Hannes, here's a couple of very old (2007) pics I mentioned. Only posting to show how rain can be quite effective.
Please don't crit the stormy ocean one too much!! Was early days ;D
Woah, the stormy ocean (more close up) one has a really cool feel with some of the rain lit up by the light source. What did you use for rain?

both are very good. 8)
Agreed, those are some stormy waters.
They are nice indeed, and I do recall seeing them. I guess you made the rain from stretched, rotated small fractals in a cloud setup, which are also warped on a meter scale? I like the subtle variation in direction.
Kevin says in Hannes Rain thread;
"I tried several years ago using a short free utility that enabled the addition of "rain" by overlaying small dots on the image and streaking them. It had basic controls like colour, size and direction."
So it's some sort of PS plugin?

No, it wasn't for PS. Just a stand alone little program (precursor of the now ubiquitous app), written by a woman into art and design if I remember correctly and available on her site with other little freebies for photo effects. It was called something like "raindrops" or "rain effects".
I had all this on my old pc but that died a few years back. Unfortunately I only had my finished pics and TG stuff backed up (what else do you need?!!!). Been hunting for it but no joy, most likely gone by now.
