Title: Populating sraight in a line

I want to populate objects in a straight line one after the other and forgot what option I have to use for this. I saw this long time ago but now cant find it. Can someone point the way pls?

This is the idea:
ooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooo

ooooooooooooooooooo

it is object spacing (for distance)and object variation spacing (set at zero for no variation in spacing)?
off of the top of my head...
rendering so will check after...

Yeah that works with the build in rock for example but not with the sphere I try to use. Those ones are not following the order still... :(

is it a sphere that you imported as an obj?

I used an imported sphere (created in blender) - these settings:
