Title: Cutting in half...
Post by: N-drju on February 20, 2016, 01:12:33 PM
Hey Everybody,

I'm trying to do the "floating rock" type of picture, but unfortunately I have a problem with the surface. How can I cut a planet object in half so I have a flat, top surface while the bottom stays displaced? Any ideas?

Try Matt's old example.

I would have thought you would have done better with an imported rock object modeled in ZBrush, Sculptris (free), or similar ,,,
Just a thought.

Those applications both have flatten brush functions so certainly another alternative.

You can do this in TG, no problem. Just use a flattened sphere and stretch only the bottom down out.

Thanks for all these solutions! That's what I meant Dune.

I also found out that you can use a sphere object, change y size and slightly displace it with PF - good enough for me as well.
