Title: Rover
Post by: fleetwood on May 29, 2016, 03:57:22 PM
Looked out and saw Mars very bright and close the other night, so this... random height-field and some Terragen height-field erode.

Rover model - unknown maker.

Nice!

That's actually the most realistic Mars render I've seen  :)

The rover model turns out surprisingly good as well. I would suggest to reduce the displacement spike level or whatever is causing the very high frequency sharp displacement. More fake stone would probably help as well!

I agree 100% with KyL... only a little bit work on the ground...

But then: in fact the most realistic Mars picture I've seen.

Looks like a real photograph of a real place!

Thanks for comments and suggestions all  :)
Maybe I will refine the terrain a little. Somehow I was telling myself the admittedly spikey areas could be some kind of peculiar fractured mineral deposit or old evaporation formation.
