In short , yes...just stretch the Y a lot in a cloud's Power Fractal and add colours to the cloud

Certainly possible... having said that, a view from above could perhaps be more difficult.
I had a pretty good Aurora effect going using bright green clouds some time ago. I'll try to dig it up in a few days when I get my computers setup (I just moved to a new house and I'm still on my laptop :D ).
