Momma rides shotgun today. While looking through MartinRichard's renders I saw this caddy that I always meant to extrapolate on so with little in my mind but a scene this evolved, I think the stone house is from Ade, the other I believe from 3darchive.The giant elms lining the street are from mr-miley, thanks again, and the background fill trees are XFROG freebie elms. The characters I just posted about and the girl in the car, "Princess" is the same one from my architectural glass test building render. Low ish res but rendered quite fast, 1 1/2 hrs. so may go bigger at least.
OK Bobby............cool looking scene. Afraid you have 4 flat tires..........need to raise your Caddy a little bit. You are running on the whitewalls. :-*

Yeah, I added some displacement just before rendering....ooops. Gonna add some road garbage veg and FSs to the edging as well.
Really nicely put together. But there are some more issues besides the flats. You can do better with the road, I'm sure; not using an image map, but proper fake stone gravel or tarmac. And there's a problem with the tiling of the house's walls. If you could make that texture file tileable, you may get rid of it. You can do that in photoshop, or I think there are online services wher you can upload an image to be tiled. Or just find another one.

Thanks Ulco...yeah the road will get more work and the house is a .tgo so it's harder to adjust stuff like that and as it's I think Ade's share I hesitate to tweak it...tried blending the road as there are PF's there but they didn't come thru in the mix. Won't get fixed till Monday m\now as I have a beach gig to play this weekend and I'm leaving an hour or so.
Nice render and composition! :)
Great start with Ulco's refinements could be a great render.
A very good start! I like the image and its composition very much.
I agree with Ulco's suggestions... but also I agree: the beach gig comes first :)
Started fresh on the road after the beach. The only image map left is the edge mask...studied the road outside the resort and this is close...C&C welcome.
The road is a bit strange now. Why not just make it black with a tiny (0.5cm) dark grey fake stone in it, and perhaps some reflection (no-RT). And you still have the house wall texture problem.
The princess kinda looks like Taylor Swift............... ::)

The road I was studying was a mud road at the beach...didn't touch the house as I found it has funny uv mapping and Ade no longer has the .obj to fix all that. I may at some point put asphalt(out of character for the beach though)on the road and replace the house. Was going for all TG type objects in the houses but may use one of my hunderds of .obj houses. Rather more involved in music these days so likely not too soon. Will add to this thread if I get it done.

a lotta poser babes seem to and I suspect this is one from the parts list although it came from 3darchive.
in a quarter the time TG3.4 took, just sayin;
Thanks for the nagging Ulco, finally found an acceptable non repeating brick texture and I like it much better. Did the best I could on the road. Will take another stab at it later. This scene rendered in 22:40 as opposed to the 4 hours it took on TG3.4
Yeah, much better stonework! Pity it takes so long to render. If you do try another one, add some dust to the road!

Actually a fraction of the original, just over 22 min compared to multiple hours for the TG3.4 render...4 is quite a bit faster on this image. Will play with dusting it up. Was anxious to try some 4 tests so when this finished I called it done for now but will return to it as I wanna get the road right...
Ah, 22min, I thought 22 hours :P Good! Off to dust then ;)
The bricks are much better then the previous texture.
I'd like to see the body of the car with sharper highlights though.
Maybe 0.075 or 0.05.

is this in the soft reflections?
Nope, I meant specular roughness.
Sorry, my bad.

great...will play with that, thanks
Great bricks now!
A bit more work on the street and perhaps something with the door of the house... This wll be a little masterpiece (in my eyes) :)

I keep forgetting that friggin door, didn't come with a texture and have been planning to make the part invisible and adding an actual door but as it's a .tgo it's a bit difficult to work with outside TG...still tweaking the road but it isn't cooperating.
