Title: Tent object with light source
Post by: luvsmuzik on June 28, 2016, 06:40:11 PM
We all have that inner child. In my case 5 or 6.

I made this object. It was an exercise in using cloth, something else new for me. I had to learn to make the little flaps and awnings. I am so happy the light and shadow are visible from the side flap!

Question: I used a light source inside power 50 and radius pretty much the whole inside of tent. Does light source compare to an area light? Would it be better to use 3 smaller radius lower power or is what I did okay. At this point I doubt the interior will be view except from existing openings.

Added disc with displacement for sawdust and a little background. Off to "dirty up" the tent fabric to soften the harshness.

image texture testing

Outside textures are kind of okay.

Inside of tent shots 1 & 2 normal TG render on 1; shot 2 inside gamma correct outside of TG.

Question: Just use a stronger light source inside of tent?

It's light enough, I'd say.

Agree w Dune but you might turn up the Environ light in the lighting Tab a bit if you want it brighter inside

I agree with Dune and Bobby.

Keep  experimenting. This could be a great roman or medieval scene ( I would prefere roman) :-)
