Title: TG4 Clouds
Post by: Kevin F on July 07, 2016, 04:16:38 AM
Love these new clouds!
Just playing around, forget the foreground etc. It's all about the clouds.

A couple more examples.
Both the same scene just with different lighting.
TG4 beta can be quite sluggish at times when lighting values are changed i.e position /strength etc.
I get a lot of "TG4 is not responding" messages but then it does respond and all's well. However, it's also at these times that it can crash.

Cool beams. I'm just working on those myself as well.

Those are some very strong rays, impressive results.

Nice stuff, I as well am messing around with visible light rays...

Here's an odd one that happened by chance.
Done by stretching the noise values of the Density fractal in a Global cloud layer.

I've put the atmosphere .tgc in the shared area - called light burst.
Interested to know what others can do with it.

Very odd. It doesn't even emanate from a sun, or is it an invisible sun down there?

Agreed, odd. Other then that, neat effect.

No, there's no sun down there.

Thats a render error. last time I seen that was in version 2. There is a thread about that somewhere.

Can you replicate it with different settings, Kevin?

Had a play with it with a glass sphere...possibilities but I dunno what for yet

Yep, sure can. You can change most settings. Tweaking the noises in the density fractal gives lots of great results.

Reminds me of the glitch in TG0.9, the Bliss Effect, when the 2d clouds were set with extreme settings...
That brings back memories...

Yeah, some fun artifact effects. Remembers me to have a look at this, still haven't.

We need someone to make a "bliss effect" plugin for Terragen 4. :D
