Title: Playing with some ground
Post by: nvseal on September 01, 2007, 11:08:49 PM
This is a render of some testing. I thought it looked pretty neat so here it is. It's just some dirt and Moodflow's soft shadows.  ;D

I like the image quite abit. You said that you used small fake stones, is it also possible to use a really small fractal too?

What this image needs is a footprint of some sort and everything will fall into place in terms of scale. Excellent details on the ground, I like the look of this very much.

Yes it is. I thought about doing just that for this render. (and still might)

Nice - why don't you use terragen's internal soft light?

If you give me your deep version Volker I would be more than happy to render many images with and without the internal soft shadows.  ;D I have many images just waiting for a deep version to render them.

Yes, nvseal.  You (in my opinion) need the Deep version.  Don't let a talent go to waste.  Dude.   ;D

I prefer small fake stones  for the texture, with an underlying fractal with a larger scale for extra shaping.  This makes it look a lot less like a fractal displacement
