Title: Prometheus
Post by: yossam on August 10, 2016, 05:30:02 PM
I couldn't get the model out of Lightwave in decent shape, so I used a TG4 sky and rendered it in the most frustrating piece of software I own. Sorry Newtek........... ???

That would be some tough re-texturing if those aren't standard materials. There's some nice elements in there to composite with. Bit of motion blur, some atmospherics. I quite like the landscape.

I've been playing around with Fusion recently, it's free! Not bad for a proper node based compositing package. It will take in all the render passes TG can create including z-depth. So if you wanted to grab the camera in Lightwave into TG for some atmospheric passes, you'll be able to get Prometheus to emerge from volumetrics.

Very interesting model. Impressive landscape!
Good luck with the fusion experiments :)
Untill now fusion is the most unused button on my PC  ;D

Appreciate the link, but you only get four engines, some greebles, and what could be an air intake..........all of it untextured.  ;)

Kadri,

I think it's mainly because of the changes that were made between 9.6 and 11.7.............I tend to spend a lot of time looking for the right buttons.  ???

I really like the model. Lots of detail. Just doesn't seem to merge into the background very well

Or create a TG scene and export a Spherical Camera render to use as an HDR to light your model?

Thank you Hetzen.............I had not thought about that.  :)

now that's a sharp work around...
