Title: Rotate heightfields
Post by: Kranky on September 06, 2007, 04:29:15 PM
Hello everybody,

I want to create a complex terrain with many heightfields. But to create this, I must rotate some of the heightfields.
Is there any heightfield operator or shader to do this?

There is no heightfield rotate function at present. You will need to rotate the heightfield in an external editor for the time being.

Oshyan,

Do you know if the twist and sheer shader will support actual twisting eventually?  (sorry if this has already been answered).

Just from its name, I would have looked to that function initially if I were to rotate a heightfield within TGTP.

I intend to add twisting capability to the Twist and Shear shader in future (it was named that way because I planned to put both capabilities into the same shader). That wouldn't be the best way to rotate a heightfield, however.

Here's a possible solution. (already PMed Kranky earlier)
A built-in one would be better of course.. at least for rotations by 90°.
