Title: How to get good cumulus clouds
Post by: treddie on October 20, 2016, 05:14:28 PM
I have to admit my ignorance with getting good, consistent cumulus clouds.  Mine stink!

What is the trick for getting really good, billowy clouds, with sharp billow detail?  Whenever I try it, I either get foam- and sudsy-looking clouds with tiny foam blobs around the main cloud, or very tiny details that just look like noise.  None of them scale well off on the horizon because they look too detailed at that distance.

I have tried Perlin Noise, Voronoi Billows and all the rest, but I cannot get the right effect, let alone get clouds that have a wide base and rise up to a smaller top.  Instead, I always get "biscuit" shaped clouds.

Very confused  :( :'(,
