This image would not have been possible without Luc's gracious posting of his cumulus clouds .tgd.
I tried forever and a day to get my clouds to look good. But with Luc's file, I was able to see that I had the right idea, I just needed to understand shaders better, and how a lot of those check boxes can get you into trouble if you're not careful. There are so many functions spread through the tabs that need proper settings. Now that I understand that better, this was my first truly successful set of cumulus clouds that I can honestly say I like.
Thanks Luc!

You've got some great shapes, the shading just needs a bit of adjustment now. Good start! You are using v2 clouds here, correct?
-Oshyan
v2, yes.
Do you think some of the shapes are too dark? I was actually liking that, but maybe I have been looking at it for too long.
The darkness is not necessarily a problem, but the overall shading lacks "definition", it is too soft in my view. I am curious to see these shapes with v3 cloud shading...

Let me play with this for a while.
You're welcome
Nice to see this old tgd file is still useful.
If you need more clouds/sky presets you can visit my store (http://www.lucbianco.fr/store/) ;)

Clouds are a bit too transparent IMH, cool looking shapes and an excellent start. I would hate to be a passenger in that Jumbo jet, I can only assume the fasten seat belt sign is illuminated :)
Heheh...The pilot loves to give his passengers a little rush!
Thanks for the comments! I am experimenting with various stuff to see what happens.
