Title: Sunset render test
Post by: Clay on October 23, 2016, 08:33:29 PM
Here is a test I was doing, am very curious though as to why this would take 3:23:18 to render? its all default except for: red decay at 7.0521 in atmosphere main, receive shadows from surfaces is on.  /easy cloud 01 default cloud type is the Altcumulus, I set the lightness on the cloud to 1 and edge sharpness to 0.1375 and thats about it. I'm running a 27 inch iMac with a 4 core i7 processor, 16 gig of ram and a 2 gig video card

It's high at least in part because Receive Shadows is enabled. That increases render time a fair amount, and in this case there's no reason for it to be enabled anyway.

Receive Shadows turned off and deleted the terrain and I still get a render time of:3:12:03 just added a planet which really doesn't matter much, is there a memory leak maybe?

Please don't do that in the future. Files can be uploaded anywhere they seem relevant. File Sharing is specifically for sharing files that you want other people to use  and enjoy, not for problem files. Next time just attach it here, it's more contextual and relevant and keeps everything in the same thread.
