I did some more renders with the River Preset (http://www.store.nwdastore.com/presets/dunes-river- (http://www.store.nwdastore.com/presets/dunes-river-)), adding some stuff here and there, like pulling the off-valley-terrain up in #2, and such. Both rendered within the hour.
There are some things I could have changed, but well, Sunday's over now.
Lead by example, well done! Like the soft sandy banks in #1 and wind effect on water, great! Cooling mist effect very nice.
amazing real look, well done! :D
I like the first one a bit more.
But not because of the impressive sunset ;)
There is something disturbing me with the ground of the second render. I am not sure what it is but perhaps somthing of the following ideas:
In the vegetation areas perhaps more groundcovering plants?
Or/and in the area which is somewhat further away from the water a brighter and less wet look?
Just ideas.
Rocks and ground structure are great!
That would all be possible. I understand what your problem is (I really do ;)), it's the chalky patches in the dry ground that look like it's a bit reflective. But I'm not intending (I think now) to elaborate on this, but I'll keep it in mind.
I also 'forgot'' to add reflection and/or transparency in the midwater section, but well...
Epic style!
I like them equally!
:)
Very nice! I like the mood too!
Some day my tech will come...
And I'll TG4 again....this old dell will load it but it's soooo slow everything is a chore...mainly doing net and playin guitar till the workstation gets up off the mat...
But lovely iterations...inspiring....
And another, pointing the camera the other way, and reseeding the backdrop mountains. The B&W one looks a bit like infrared (PS post, messing around with B&W conversion).
Looks like he's having a whizz in the river heh heh.
Very nice.
Btw the files are named 'Dunes_River_Preset_v2...'. Is this just internal versioning or did you really find a way to improve your already brilliant River Preset?
No, it's a name I gave to this rendered version to distinguish it from the NWDA preset in my folder, no update; this is exactly the file at NWDA, just different mountain seed, sun angle and POV.
Isn't it a little to cold to swim Ulco? :P I mean at least for the next several months?
@Bobby - Why don't you postwork it then? :P
I'll turn it into ice and snowy ;) EasySnow :P
I very like the last one in color!
