Some newly constructed Speedtree Oaks and a few Megascan objects. World Machine terrain, Easy Clouds.
Easy clouds? Wow, spectacular. Rocks are also superb and of course the vegetation.
Looks great.
Liking this a lot...well done.
Beautifull and very impressive! Excellent composition and vegetations. :)
Wonderful, Doug. You certainly have an eye for composition, lighting and detail. Superb render. The coyotes really give it a story.
Beautiful! Looks like a classic painting.
Absolutely brilliant!
Very very nice render!!
The only little thing that grabs my attention is the 2 coyotes looks like mirrored. I would move the left one a bit behind so the a bit more separated in space. (I might be wrong but I would give a try to see.)
Awesome, realism is tops
Great scrubs, great rocks, great great great! What we all aspire to do.
Spectacular, superb, genius!
Every detail is wonderful from the clouds to the coyotes!
Nice one, very natural overall look.
Thanks all! This started as a simple test of some new Speedtree objects, but then then the Megascans seemed like a cool set of assets to test, and then the Easy Clouds needed some more experimentation, and so on...
Dune: there is a rather extensive back story here, I'll put it up later.
Rene: glad you made that comparison, as a former easel painter of Southwest scenes, using digital media to continue those themes comes naturally.
Luvsmuzik: too much! but appreciated non the less!
DocCharly65: did my mother pay you to say that? ;)
Archonforest: I think I wore those little guys out moving them to and fro so much in numerous test renders. I'll post a test render from a different POV later, and indeed one is offset a small distance behind and slightly scaled.

What???? I could have gotten money for it??? :o
;) ;D ;D ;D ;D
really nice!
For Archonforest: an attached image from a different POV of the coyotes. I actually have a chance to see them on our property from time to time, we've lost two cats to them over the last several years. They're dawn to dusk predators mostly so we keep the cats in at night, but I admire their adaptability despite the constant human encroachment.
Also in case anyone is curious about using base Speedtree models to then fashion more detailed trees I've attached a comparison image.

same here re: coyotes, and they;re no cross breeding with wolves...getting scary at the beach.
Really beautiful image. Are the rocks Megascans then?
- Oshyan
Mostly really excellent. No biggy, but some of that cloud area isn't up to the level of the rest imho.
Thanks Oshyan. Yep, Megascan rocks and mushrooms
Fleetwood: I agree about the clouds. Still tweaking with the Easy Cloud settings.
Top notch stuff.
I would love to see a render of just those clouds over a low level terrain! Beautiful!
Very nice scene !
David.
Re-visited the sky after some more work with the "Easy Cloud". The atmosphere is tweaked with a bit, and the barren tree on the right has been altered. No post.
2016 has come and gone too quickly! I wish everyone in the TG community a joyous and prosperous New Year!
An astonishing work, Doug. I know how much time you put into this, but it's definitely worth it! Happy Newyear!
Wonderful Beautifully done. :) Happy 2017
:)Beautiful clouds this time too! Wonderful composition. Happy New Year!
Happy 2017, and congratulations to that outstanding and beautiful render! :)
This new version is even more outstanding. It has a much more dramatic quality to it with that new sky. Well done!

I like how you took a perfect image and made it more perfect. I usually start sliding backwards at that point. Well done man.
an absolute beauty! 8)
Beautiful image. Especially interested in your tree models (deriving new models from an existing model)
How the hell did I miss this...............great image. ;D I would like to see your workflow on the trees myself. :-X
Thank's so much for all of the wonderful comments! There is a back story to the image, but it's a bit involved and I'm not sure whether it would aid or distract...
Here's a link to a short youtube video showing the steps in putting this together:

A video of the tree construction is possible, and I'll put it onto the to do list. :)
Great breakdown Doug! We've posted it to our social media. I wish more people would do these for their best images, they're always fascinating.

That's a cool way of showing the setup, Doug.
Wow, Doug, I totally missed that one. Fantastic image! Ultra real and great video!!
Beautiful!!! Superb work at all levels. I find that the addition of these clouds reinforces the composition at the graphic level.
Very cool breakdown Doug. Shared the youtube on my FB page so folks outside of this forum can share my amazement.
cant fault it...looking good

Yeah, just turning on layers by keyframe...tickeled me pink as well...
Doug got me occupied too, just made a new intro to my website. Thanks for the idea, Doug.
Wow, must have been so blown away by the clouds I forgot to say wow...and a happy newt's ear to you as well Doug...
