Title: instances visible/invisible...
Post by: Dune on December 19, 2016, 02:05:43 AM
Has this been tackled before? Is it a bug? When viewing a pop in box mode, you don't see all instances, but when in smooth shaded you do. Might have to do with editing, but still...

I've not run into that and I do considerable pop  editing. Will keep am eye out for this. I have a recurring problem with the sample object popping in at 0,0,0 when I have no 'landing pad' for it there; often in the middle of a building, but in my Escapist scene one turned up in the middle of the water and random seed will fix it temporarily but should I save and close the project that way it always comes back. Another reason that project is on the shelf.

EDIT

moved the pop from 0,0,0,to 100,0,0 and problem solved

I run across this fairly often. Usually it shows up in the render and when I wish to remove or move the unwanted instance it doesn't show as either 'bounding box' or 'textured' in the preview. I then move the mouse while in 'bounding box' mode over the approximate area and the 'rogue' instance normally 'reveals' itself. A few rare times the 'rogue' remained elusive and a 're-populate' was necessary.

I'll try some mousing over. It's not a big deal this time, but it can be frustrating when you can't edit. Though that sounds a bit spoiled, as I am extremely thankful for this feature!

I know what you mean. Sometimes when you get too close you need to hit the [ to see instances. I don't think that's the case here, but perhaps moving the camera will make it visible again. have to check. Thanks for thinking along, Bastien.
