I needed some procedural heather, so I did some testing yesterday.
That'd fool me, should try it in a Scottish hill environment as well.
Seems it works :)
Cool work, I like it :D
Pretty convincing.
That does look good. My eye sees what could pass as flora.
This is what I'm after, but I'm not there yet if you compare to the actual terrain.
Yes, it looks like there are all manner of various grasses in the reference photographs. Greens, browns, some yellows and reds.
Yes, it needs a lot of lighter greens/buffs, and the heather should be more pronounced and darker. And I need birches.
Update...
impressive!!!!
From this colourblind's perspective the grasses seem oversaturated/not dry enough as compared to the fotos
Not being sarcastic, heck of a golf course! Lots of sand traps. Very nice.
That was my impression also, after seeing it rendered. So I changed it again ;)
This is going to be great!
I had the same thoughts as written in the last comments :)
A bit more dry grass or a bit more dry look of the grass would be nice.
And I like the look of a golf course.
Anyway very nice! :)
I am trying to get as far as possible procedurally without having to use grass, but I did add some grass in another test and that looks way better immediately. They only need the topview, but well, perhaps an afterthought present if they behave ;)
