Just playing around with a rock shader on the Alpine node.
A little different version is rendering too now with different clouds.
That's quite lovely just as it is.

I fixed the old one. Working fine now that I replaced most of the guts, if it works for a while as is, then I will buy another new GPU (the one I have now is my third, and it is really a sad little one). But if I dont have any problems with the basics Ill buy another low level pro GPU, and then upgrade the CPU too to server class.
All of this cost much less than buying a new system of any make. And if I do get a cpu upgrade, my older system will still be better than what I could afford in a new one, more or less ;)

Still have to recover all my files and stuff from old hard drive. But that should go ok now.
Computers are frustrating sometimes. My nephew had a PSU and 2 hard disk crashes in less then 6 months or so.
Now he installed only what he needs...He isn't enthusiastic about computers as he was years ago anymore :)

U would think companies would get that. But it seems the universal model is just find new suckers. Then when everybody wises up, low and behold a sudden discovery of how to make things better... then look for more suckers.
