Title: Multiple objects for a population - best way?
Post by: SteveR on January 08, 2017, 02:31:55 PM
Hi all, just wondering what the best (i.e. simplest) way to populate a population with a number of different objects that I create in Blender. Is there a way for example of having a single population but that population uses a number of different meshes. Ideally I'd like each mesh to be randomly scaled and or rotated.

I see there is an object sequence in the object reader dialogues but not been able to work out if that's relevant (can't see it in the wiki - apols if I have missed it - the wiki help for the obj reader node doesn't appear to cover these options).

Or is the best way just to use several similar populations and use a different object for each one?

Thanks
Steve

At the moment it's not yet possible to create one pop with several objects, so you still have to create several pops. Random rotation is set by default, and of course you can vary the scale randomly already for each pop.

What Hannes said...atm we're limited to one object per pop.

Thanks Hannes and Bobbystahr, appreciate the quick replies. Separate pops it is!
