Made an interesting fractal terrain that screamed Conifer so I made these renders. Thanks so much AP...these are lovely trees.
missed this one as I ran over 5000kb
The 002 is my favorite. Well done Bobby! It has a beautiful overview over the landscape.
Nice start. You need more grass, Bobby ;)
Thanks Nils...and Dune...well I guess, I was focusing on the Conifers. No one noticed the missing trans map on the wee yellow flower eh?...just saw that myself. Oh well something to do tomorrow...off to bed here.
Very pretty :)
Nice images Bobby.
not a bad tree model.....
some bushes etc on the ground, will look better then, nice one boby
Ditto on the "needs more grass" ;)
Thanks all, well I was mainly testing out the Conifers but I do agree as it seems sparce in the closer in shots but I'd not been paying close attention to that. That'll be today's start off project. Later all.
EDIT
well I juiced up the grass that was there and added a crab grass but I really need my other 16G of RAM as my 'power box' is reacting line my old Amiga2000 doing the pops......doing a small test and seems to be rendering fine though.
Looking at task manager I see only 3/4 of my RAM in use so the display issue must be the video card I'm thinking. It's a Radeon 5500 series...any thoughts on this?

The populator (during the population phase) tends to push the CPU a little harder than the renderer, as far as I'm aware. It does some things differently from the renderer which backs off a little to keep your computer responsive to other programs.
What sort of display problems are you seeing?

Windows lag, spinning wheel, basically stuff that was happening on the dell. I'll make a list next project as it seems consistent. My short term is pretty bad lately unless I focus, heh heh, old age I guess.
here it is with all corrections.
Great, much improved!
Sweet!
I always have to turn object preview to bounding box or hide before render. I often forget to turn off edit object population as well. I rarely use RTP as I forget and try to switch to a shader before it is done tracing and whoops, freeze time. I, of course do not understand the things about rendering that you do,...but it does help my unit to do that. I have Poseray running all the time as well as email, so that could be part of my problems too. I do not know if Poseray goes dormant like if it is just hanging in the background or not.

Thanks Ulco and the Bookshop rocks, gracias for that, had to scale it up to my scene x10 but a perfect fit . Doing some work on the roof atm and then it'll be rendertime.
