Title: Render Speed 4 vs 3
Post by: Flythru on January 21, 2017, 06:12:44 PM
Hi Guys, This has probably been brought up if it has please point me in the threads direction. But what have you found in real world terms of speed improvements from Terragen 3 to TG 4 renders. Been out of the loop a bit on TG. Have been tide up in Cinema4D  testing out different render engines.

TG4 is very much faster, especially with objects.

Cheers Dune, Looks like I'll need to make the leap. Was pleased with the object renders in 3 although speed was always a killer doing animations - still rate TG as producing some of the best renders in any case.

I did a test on one scene and found that TG4 was twice as fast as TG3 rendering the scene which had a lot of Xfrog Objects.

True! I am very pleased with the increased speed. Especially with heavily populated renders. Cheers for the PS guys!

Speed Improvement Feeling... around 50%-100% depending upon the scene and settings...
