Such an original title, I know.
Many thanks to Oshyan for rendering this for me :)
Unlike on Facebook, here I post a higher resolution version.
Cheers,
Martin
Exceptional!
It really is a lovely image. I still really like those sand ripples and the way they're lit. :D

The clouds and colors are beautiful!!!
A stunning image! Beauty and majesty combined, a fine piece of Art.
Nice image.
Great render, especially the sky is wonderful. I hardly dare say it, but I do think the rock is very black, though.
Great one!! 8)
That is absolutely beautiful!!!
Thank you all :)

Yes the rock is very black and I see the conflict that it somehow feels unbalanced or incorrect, but it is correct.
The sun is at 1 degree and the atmospheric haze is increased which leads to an exposure for the sky.
From a photographic point of view this is really correct, heck, I even increased shadow brightness, otherwise the ripples would be much darker.
I do agree though that it might feel off.
Lovely image and very ballanced I think. I like the contrast of the black silhouette against the soft clouds and sand ripples. Simple and effective.
Beautiful.
Really beautiful. The clouds are amazing.
Very nice. I do think the central pillar of the cloud appears slightly less real, a bit over-edgy and dense in relation to the density seen in the outer and lower portions. Possibly just to my eye.

cool shot, love the colours and mood!
:)
Cheers guys!

You have a keen eye ;)
There's a density gradient from bottom to top.

Hear! Hear!...and am I ever grateful. This is possibly the best render of it's genre yet...and I agree with Oshyan on those amazing sand ripples...a great foundation for that sky. It's now on my desktop, thank you very much.
Really amazing! Outstanding sky!!!
A different take on processing the EXR...
Did a lot more pushing/pulling of tones to get a bit of texture back in the silhouette and a less saturated look.
Hmmm...oh well...I never found this the most exciting and easy part of the process ::)
Oh, hmm. I think I like this newer take on the post processing, aside from the minor halo around the rock column (most noticeable against the cloud area on the upper-right). It's interesting though that the original version has a softer, almost Maxfield Parrish feel, while this one looks more absolutely realistic IMHO.

I like this one a bit better even...
Prefer the new interpretation. Like the color temp and that sense of greater depth in the blue sky.
Didn't think it possible but ver 4 is even better...
I think it's better this way, but I still think that the blacks are too molten into eachother. The sky isn't that bright that the rock would be so extremely silhoueted, is my 2cents. The warm light on the beautiful cloud is what makes this render outstanding, so even without the rock it would be great.
I like that last one better as well. The scene, to me, verges on the surreal. So the dark ripples seem part of the overall composition and create a striking pattern of flow and energy, maybe not 'realistic' as such but successful from a design viewpoint. The lighting on the masterful cloud is indeed the jewel of the image. To have that sky set in a more 'mundane' landscape would diminish the power of the image in my estimation. Great to have you back on the Forum with such a powerful image TU!
Yeah, TU is back with a bang! 8)
Very Nice Martin
great clouds, can you explain a bit about creating that?
Thank you all :)

It's really hard to explain I'm afraid, sorry.
I have ideas though for making a different cloud product which is much simpeler, yet teaches people a trick or two.
Wonderful renders!
Beautiful! I like the clouds , the atmosphere and the sand ripples! Great!
