Title: F 30 with a cargo delivery
Post by: bobbystahr on February 24, 2017, 10:10:33 AM
Just sketching on the dell while I await my tech to come and fix the gawd-damnCorsair. Found this lovely F 30 loaded with cargo as a lwo on DMI, http://www.dmi-3d.net/index.html a vehicle share site and it was too nice to sit unused in my vehicle dir. The road is a simple SS shader road in the default scene I set up as a display platform for viewing new vehicles and I dressed it up with the Bluehouse and some  XFROG Silver Maples and Dune grass.
Dunno what was up with me when I did the clouds but I like the atmo they supply. C&C welcome as I've nothing better to do with the corsair down than to tweak current images...

This is actually pretty nice Bobby, a pretty natural, realistic feel and I like your overcast but almost-breaking-through-the-clouds lighting. I do find that yellow stripe on the road a bit overly bright and unaged, however.

that was a last minute test, it's a very narrow SS shaded broken up with an image map and I meant to fade that with fractal break up but forgot...

Looks pretty nice. Truck looks showroom clean and house just built. Maybe some dirt/rust/moss/grime added on house and truck ?

Well I wouldn't accept product delivered in a dirty truck so I left it clean (that's a load of amplifires in them crates) but I agree the house could use a touch.

You need more stuff (herbs, ivy, rubbish, dead branch, shrub...), it's very clean, I mean. Sky is great. And I don't understand the whitish on the roadsides, what's that? Better tone that down I think.

I agree re: detritus but am currently working on the dell till the Corsair gets up off it's butt and........ That white is a failed fake stones, will fix those, they got all messed up with a Density fractal I added because they were looking artificially placed...bit of a fail I agree. Wish this new computer trauma would end, makes me not wanna do stuff.

Much better! But more stuff can be added. Some dust on the (very black) road, perhaps. Some trash thrown out of car window, more grass/flowers/herbs...

I hear ya but bear in mind I'm doing this on a dell optiflex780 with a slow cpu and only 8 G RAM...it's getting very sluggish as it is.Thought about some dust but it looks too humid/about to rain like for that was my thinking; additionally the road is asphalt and it's black here...I could desaturate it maybe but i don't want grey. Here in Canada we discourage throwing trash out the window, hee hee hee. I have a giant tractor tire that I was thinking of plunking down in the lawn with a stand of hydrangas growing in it, that's very Canuck.

EDIT

Going to bed, 1/4 done in 1hr+ so it'll keep till my morning.

Here's the update that rendered while I slept...seems to have gone faster than I expected and could have waited up for it."hero rock and moss additions from A P...thanks very much. Bicycle against the house from rendo freestuff, papus3d military bicycle.

Bicycle is a nice touch. It's more lived now.

Is the driver a part of the model or have you post-worked him in?

Thanks Ulco, thought you'd like that touch. On the phone advice of my tech guy I fired up the corsair and tried to render this in that and got yet another BSOD so until I get enough stability this is as far as I can go on this image.

Thanks, That rock(#1 of 10 in a collection of .tgc files) comes from A P as well as the lovely moss.

The driver I extracted from a semi trailer model and I use him frequently. I centered the model out in PoseRay and it's relatively easy to place in a vehicle ...and size of course...always comes in huge. I'd share it if I could find the original creator and as if it's allowable...If I do find them and it's cool, it'll appear in File Sharing.

as a verbal update, although the scene BSODs my corsair computer, it renders in 20 min30 seconds without the clouds...so the cloud section alone take 01:45:00 to do.

It seems a checkdisk after the last BSOD has fixed my computer as the full scene with clouds is rendering gang busters. It looks like it's going to finish in under an hour. Knock me over with a feather!

As predicted in at 00:44:10...I think it looks a bit better but mainly because I've been looking at it on my 23.5 in monitor for the first time.
This dell is 1366x768...a big difference.

I like the scene very much.
Looks like a complete story is happening behind the scenes.

Thanks Nils there is. The truck for starters is so clean because it's delivering brand new guitar amps and a P A to a practice studio, and Fred the driver doesn't want the band to think his cartage ( he's the owner) company is disrespectful by driving dirty vehicles. Who knows he may get the tour gig driving around America...if they can get in. It's a threatening sky so he's booting it because even though well wrapped against the weather, the roads around here get very liquid once the rain starts...

The amps are pretty well camouflaged, to fool highwaymen, I guess. ;)

Seriously, still wondering why your car interiors are so bright lately.

nothing I did, I'd guess Fred has 'em turned on looking for his stash...but seriously I added nothing. Another TG mystery. Let y' know if I ever figger it out though.

My houses are sometimes too light inside too, because it's just one layer of polys, doing not enough shadow. Perhaps higher values of GISD sample/quality is needed?

I'll look into that although I do like having the driver visible in the vehicle.

Worth a try.

There is nothing wrong with the driver being visible, but there should be a little
difference to being outside.
