I have a ter file with a Color Map and 5 masks. Can someone tell me what these masks are? And the color map? What is the usage of these?
Those masks appear to be mostly - if not entirely - derived from erosion modeling. You would mostly use them for texturing, for example if you wanted to have grassy slopes with rocky/dirt erosion channels, you could use the 2nd map you show above to limit a "dirt" surface layer to just the "gully" areas where water ran down.
