Title: Too much of a RED planet
Post by: moodflow on September 14, 2007, 04:29:51 PM
I started to rework an older image I created back in the opening days.

Anyway, here is the latest result, though I am not done yet.  I may remove the clouds covering the big moon for better clarity, as the moon has glowing lava channels.

The background is just an image and the moon has an image map as well.  There are atleast 5 other suns (seen as stars) which I strategically placed to match the background clouds image.  The cool thing is, this thing would be animateable...

Some postwork was done to correct the colors, and I rendered an extra section to fix the 'sun disc through anything' bug, though it still looked nice originally.  I am really excited about how well the backlighting came out on the clouds, and how the sun has that powerblur, also seen in photos.

NIce experimentation.  That middle sun looks like the real thing.  Good job!

Incredible render you've got here, well done indeed! I like the atmosphere alot, the complexity is amazing.
