Post by: dhavalmistry on September 15, 2007, 08:52:36 PM
I am looking for some groundcover objects.....maybe like 3 different ones to add some detail and variation in the scene......

One of these groundcover objects could just be a repeating image map of leaves or cracks...

I would like to use the objects instead of bitmaps since the camera is only about a meter from the ground.....

I will be uploading some groundcover plant models to Ashundar over the next few days. Take a look and see if they are what you need.

@ogre - I'm stepping into say, "YES.  This is exactly what I want and haven't been asking about."   :P  Let us know when you upload these, please.

@dhavalmistry - Have you tried Ivy Generator? - http://graphics.uni-konstanz.de/~luft/ivy_generator/

Wow, they look nice. Groundcover models tend to be a bit thin on the ground...sorry!  ;D

or Plant Studio http://www.kurtz-fernhout.com/PlantStudio/ (http://www.kurtz-fernhout.com/PlantStudio/)
Bantam 3D Twig may also be of some use but it's no longer distributed. Not sure if there's an alternate download... there may be a link in the file sharing section.

We've got lost of space and bandwidth so anyone who has resources to share is welcome to upload there. We can take files up to 100MB I believe, and special arrangement can be made for larger. As long as you're a registered member your file uploads will be properly credited.

Previous uploads that were handled by the staff are being fixed to show proper credit as well, and our apologies once again to Harvey and others whose work was not properly credited.
