Here is a simple test trying to dial-in foliage populations. Still a long ways to go, but there is progress. Take note of the hill in the immediate background to the left. You can see the "glitter" of distant grass, similar to what is seen on grassy hills in the distance. I also screwed up on the clouds, but thats alright, as this was just a study.
The background itself is a simple star field. Nothing wrong with a few stars in the daytime sky :-)
Very minor postwork in PS. Slightly changed the contrast, added a tiny amount of sharpening, and that was about it.
Nice! My only crit would be a technical one. Try increasing your AA, as the dense geometry from the foliage is causing some really noisy areas.
AA on this was set at 6. Detail was at 0.7. I should probably render it at 0.9. Thanks for the input.
Really good!
a bit bright for my taste, but the foliage came out nicely.
Are your stars an Image or fractal?

Jan
Pretty nice foreground. Believable.
Everything looks a little too sharp, so I would recommend increasing AA there. Your foreground and water look quite nice, as some have said.
Good pov and very good foreground.
I agree with the AA. I also think the background mountain would be better with some more snow or texture.
good work!
I don't know about the AA settings (I kinda like it looking rough and detailed,) but I'd maybe turn the atmosphere samples up a bit to get rid of some of that roughness in the tree shadows.
Awesome image though! I'm wrestling with foliage too, so I can only imagine how long that took to render! :P

I used four 3.0 GHz processors and it rendered each slice in about 3.5 hours. There is a 12% overlap, meaning 36% of the image was duplicated :-( but its required due to the GI bug. And I'd rather render with GI than without due to its power.
I am not very impressed with the image, but figured I'd post it anyway.
Nicely done, this almost looks like a painting :)
Nice one :)
I have to agree that it looks a little bright and washed out but that could just be my monitor.
