Yeah well just trust me don't :)
Foolishly I thought I'd check the update function (Edit>Preferences>Software Update>Check Now) whilst rendering. Bad move. This puts TG into some sort of loop where you cant close down the checking function and new check progress windows keep spawning, I got up to about 20 of them. The only option is to Ctl-Alt-Del to get task manager up and close from there, loosing the render in the process. Not exactly the brightest of things to try but I guess I was tired and bored :( Doh

Ironically the looping update check issue ought to be fixed in the next update. Sorry about the lost render though. :(

thats strange....because I have done this before and nothing like you explained happened.....and I just tried again and nothing happened either!
Well its def not a problem with the render, it was nothing special. I just feel stupid for even trying it, talk about warning bells!!
Maybe its down to the operating system, I'm on Vista 64. Its been addressed in the next update so all is well.
