Title: Object Shadows
Post by: WAS on September 11, 2018, 01:22:26 PM
Why do object shadows seem just wrong? I wanted to make some rocks using procedural shaders and some basic rocky like shapes I made but the shadows just seem wrong, and when you add surface fine displacement it's like adding "fuzz" for the shadows.

Maybe some example images or a TGD?

Think I figured it out. Sculptris, even when subdividing, yields broken creases. Using the smooth feature and fix creases in Poseray fixes this, and the shadows cast right.

Seriously! Had no idea how useful it really was until recently.
