Been using mhaze's columnar set up (thanks Mick), and trying for lateral ridges (columns) along with the vertical columns.
Nice file to play with.

Very nice. I like the snow addition. It's funny you were playing with horizontal as well. I am literally rendering a test right now. Though in this iteration I am challenging myself to PFs only.
Excellent. I've seen cliffs like this! Perhaps limit the height of the snow to the cliffs and adding some mist, with a few trees partially hidden, should create a great atmosphere.
