Title: Seescape
Post by: mogn on November 09, 2007, 11:08:37 AM
Normally I thin that functional landscapes created by sine functions, are to regular.
So I created this landscape by modifying a get position applied to a perlin noise function
to create the displacement. Then I changed the colours of the basic layer and added
a water shader to the landscape.
AA: 5
Detail 0.7
GI: 1,1
Render time 4.5h

The colors disapeared during the conversion to jpg :'(

This is fun to look at. I like the reflections of the clouds on the ground.
Unfortunate about the colours.

Nice.  See what you can do with this - http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=1775.15 (find the TGC toward the bottom of the page).  Combine your work with this and let us see some experiments.  So much has been done with this, we should someday come up with some standard oceans with caps, realistic waves, etc.

Ok.
Changed the x,z modification.
Scale 100m on the perlin noise.
Added an exp function the the displacement.
Remember to asign a planet to the lake, if you use the clipfile.

The foam layer is not adjusted, so looks strange!
