Nice work with the snow. :)
The snow and the trees look fantastic, but imo the planet makes the whole scene look like a model. It seems to be too close and not in space.
Maybe it's the bald head of the chief modeller not knowing he's been photographed ;D
Very nice. The snow is good and the dark, blue backgound with the stars are beautiful, but I agree with Hannes about the planet
Your title is almost the same as one of my own ;D
good job on the snow...is the terrain imported or it was done in TG2??
i tried GC2 for the terrain :)
@sjefen : sorry for the title, i didn't noticed :(
anyway i'll render it later without the planet (or different one), it was one of the first time i test planet on TG2 ^^

Don't be. It's not the same. Just almost. Mine is Far Away From Home. I actually think it's funny that they are so alike ;D
Anyway. I like what you did with the trees.
I want to put my boots on and go crunching through that snow ;D Outstanding.
Other than the planet/moon don't change a thing.
I quite like the moon but maybe if it was a little smaller.......
Hey, someone put a chain around 'Europa' and brought it here!!! ;D
Great pic!!!

A bit smooth for Europa as shown here http://www.astronomical.org/planets/gif/jup/europa.gif but I can see the passing resemblance to the aforementioned moon.
Regards to you.
Cyber-Angel
ok i rendered it without the planet ^^
and a small change of atmo...

I love your atmosphere, but I miss the stars. It really looks like a cold winter night with a clear sky.
winter night with clear skies??...thats rare...
good work here...

Not at all. I live here in Norway and it actually happens very often. These are always the coldest days or nights.
atleast here in Canada it is....:)
He he... alright ;D
Are you from Canada? I've always wondered what Tai Mai Shu means? Doesn't sound like Canadian.
Sorry for going a little of topic here.
its clear right now in NH usa
;D
Tai Mai Shu ?
Seth93... Love the new version although I do miss seeing Europa hanging in the starry sky (did you by any chance use this map of Jupiters moon...? http://www.mmedia.is/~bjj/data/europa/europa.html (http://www.mmedia.is/~bjj/data/europa/europa.html) ... I mess around in Bryce a lot so I've aquired a fair few maps of various moons (real and sci-fi) but I always love seeing Europa :)
Your snow looks lovely and I must admit that the trees really work well in your image

@ squirreltape : i give you the image of Europa i used ^^
Only just noticed the update.
That looks even colder, I've changed my mind I'm not going out now. I will stay inside in the warm ;)
Proper job. Well Done ;D

Well maybe in TO but here on the bald prairie we have no lack of clear cold nights...in TO you suffer major air pollution and light pollution issues I think that our prevailing westerlies blow clear away from us, or in the case of the light, once 40 min from downtown don't exist, heh heh heh.. .......
In the great white north eh?
Bring back Europa ;) I don't mind moons/planets as long as the lighting matches with the rest of the sky (in the case of TG, the extra planet is beyond the atmosphere). You might also find some interesting stuff here.. (e.g. specularity map for Europa or normals map for Ganymede)..

Agreed, though in semi-northern Alberta it seems to alternate every week.
I'd say the image looks way better without the moon, or maybe if it wasn't so large/recognizable. Snow's great, though I think it could use a little specularity (maybe?). Like the background terrain detail.
...for some reason I expect to see Winterspring Yeti come out of the woodwork if I stare at it long enough.
