Title: Lake Object as Population Anchor
Post by: KlausK on October 30, 2019, 08:58:55 AM
Hi, while working on my "Nepunes Garden" scene I tried to use the Lake object as a anchor for a population of plants.
But the "Populate all" command did not produce any instances. I had to use the  "Free Floating" anchor instead.

So, the question is: is it - or not - possible to assign the Lake object as a anchor?

Thanks for any advice.

No, that doesn't work. Better to either use a large plane (if a horizon permits a flat plane versus spherical planet), or use a sphere with the same diameter as the planet (shadows off!), and a surface shader where you can use offset to raise/lower waterlevel to the desired altitude, and add water shader as child.
