Post by: Ariel DK on March 19, 2020, 07:48:10 PM
Welcome to the ASTREA missions!

A ten journeys and 30 years duration adventure through our solar system. In 2030 the mankind begins his journey with the achievement of a 85% efficiency fusion reactor, one year before the most powerful VASIMIR engine ever constructed, was send to the space. At that moment, the first temporary human base on Moon, increase his production capabilities, and become in the first permanent human colony out of our planet in history, meanwhile tons of helium-3 was send to the Earth for the new reactors, resolving the global energetical problem. Two spaceships Traveller 1 and 2, was builded in collaboration with 32 nations and 4 space agencies, with the purpose of bring to the humans, where no living thing never has been before... or yes?
Buckle up... the journey has begun!
Keep tuned for more status updates.
More information coming soon.

Meanwhile, in 2029, an amateur cameraman took this image of a massive object orbiting Earth 300 km altitude.

WELCOME TO THE FUTURE

The Traveller 1, is the most expensive and complex object ever constructed by mankind.
Due to the international nature of his construction program, and the possibilities of military applications, 40% of his technology
is still highly classified, however, the future and imminent impact of this technology in most of the societies around the world, is not a secret.
The whole structure is 30% builded in orbit, and 70% builded on Earth. 420 billions dollars and six years was needed to achieve
the first step in the goal to become us an interplanetary species.

Examining the Traveller-1

With 297 meters long, and 45 meters wide, the Traveller was built for a max of 50 years durability.
Designed for up to 6 crew, the habitable zone contains a several pieces from the ISS, like the Deep Range Spectrometer, the Canadian Arm, the SGANT antenna, and even the whole Tranquility Module. The interplanetary vehicle is impulsed by a powerful fusion reactor powering a VASIMIIR engine, using hydrogen and argon as fuel, the restant energy is used by two independent electrical systems for provide energy for the crew's systems, and the energy accumulators, in addition with two High Efficiency Solar Panels arrays.

Agreed! And the exposure is somewhat less so I can see the detail you mentioned in the highlights. More to this than meets the eye. Nice work!

TRAVELLER-1 AT MARS
In 2035, the Pioners mission crew members, becomes in the 1st astronauts in complete a 6 moths duration mission in the Martian surface.
Lefting Mars, during their rendezvous maneuver aboard of the Svezna MAV (Martian Ascending Vehicle), they took this beautiful image of the Traveller-1 orbiting over Arabia Terra.

Is this really Terragen???

It almost looks like a real live shot. The DoF-blurred border in the bottom and upper foreground is a very nice touch. Also great mars, great spaceship and the overall look is looking just real!
Is it overall blurred and slightly grainy? This makes it even more realistic! Big Like!

Yeah, these are superb.

The first shot, of the orbital zoom, is really convincing. I really like that one in particular, even though it's so simple. But it just makes me wonder in awe.

Makarova's EVA Over Mars
In 2032, the russian cosmonaut, mission pilot Viktoria Makarova becomes in the human being that complete the longest spacewalk in history, with 9 hours 17 minutes.
Makarova was supervising the reparation of an external anti-radiation shield of the Traveller-1, while the MPP robotic arm execute the replacement of the damaged plate.
Photo taken from inside Traveller-1 multi-purpose module. Along Makarova, MPP robotic arm, and Shalbatana Vallis are visible in the image.
