Title: Thunderhead clouds
Post by: Dune on June 01, 2020, 01:57:20 AM
Finally rendered this experiment out. It was an older I file I completely forgot about, until I went deleting stuff due to lack of space.

The mass shape looks cool. But isn't it a little pale? Is it V2 or 3?

Interesting. Curious where it could go.

Yes, great shapes, but it looks veiled sort of. Do you have a distance shader or shadow catcher involved? It could be another beauty tho.

The shape of the cumulus clouds is interesting, but I have the strange feeling that with this athmos it's cold.

Thanks all. I had atmospheric bloom turned on, hence the haziness. Here's another version.

Looks better now. Aaaand I will not be in a rush to use atmo bloom. :o Strange, I imagined it quite differently.

Nice shapes.
Seem to be a bit solid, though.

Let me guess . . . an old metacloud experiment?

Got me searching for dandelO's original post about this but the link seems to be broken.

That's really interesting. Very voronoi, and cotton candy like.

I have some clips that use heightfields in the density set up....quite the mammoth clouds... :)

;D ;D
Cool!

...with an airplane I surely would fly around these clouds - not trying to fly through them ;D

That would be cool for an animation :o

Cool stuff! It doesn't really look like clouds, but nevertheless interesting.

Oh wow! But that's actually really interesting how it turned out. Some haze patchyness around it and a higher clip effect and it may look pretty realistic.

I thought it was not too bad, perhaps even less bad for more distant 'cloud'. If we could only build volumetric like this... (displacement to scalar ;D )
