Nice. But what is the white stuff, snow? Did you already try using 'intersect underlying' in a surface shader? You can get nice results with smooth areas of snow in depressions.

I guess it's a whitish rock of sorts from a displaced power fractal. In any case, a good colour mix control!
I like the terrain structure, would slightly work on the surfacing so that whites are mostly at the top to differentiate the top of the mountain, maybe less white at the bottom. Also I would add more atmospheric medium in the foreground to make it even more real. Overall a good job!

I took it to be windblown sand. There are landscapes like this on the west coast of Scotland and the Western Isles, windblown sand over peat moor. If it is sand maybe darken it ever so slightly.
