Adobe is promoting the integration of AI with its latest update to Alchemist (https://bit.ly/2YJFPdY). Looks like it could have some nice applications for generating surface textures for use in TG.
I've been using Alchemist to create surface textures for foliage. Its bitmap-to-material filter does an acceptable job of producing a full set of texture maps from a single image. The new filter is supposed to improve on that, but I haven't tried it yet.
In some ways the interface reminds me of Lightroom's. I wonder if people from that team might be working on it.
