They were supposed to be for different projects, but this came out testing them together. PT render.
Looks fantastic. Very realistic clothing, and PT gives it probably that extra realistic touch.
Your people are really taking on individual characteristics, the quality of the renders and the clothing definitely enhances the realism. The posing and each individual's attention to detail is very life like, truly excellent!
Very nice. It's been a pleasure watching as your characters become ever more lifelike and convincing. Keep 'em coming.
(Dude with the axe needs to chill.)
These characters really are very well developed.
I am still trying to understand what's going on with that dude crouching in the rear?
Maybe he's the local moron? Or afraid of horses.
Nice clothing again. :)
Some brothers in arms. Not the best, but good enough for a bit of distance. Tried to get a nice metal shading like in the photo's.
Just made a new medieval pot helmet and I'm trying to get shaders perform like the photo's in the previous post, but it's pretty hard. Most are a mix of no-RT and RT-reflection based on silver with the index at 7. But I think these helmets are not silver but steel, so slightly different. I think I come close with 4 and 4B.
It's also difficult to add dirt/wear/corrosion after a very reflective shader, it won't be visible easily, so a merge is needed.
This is the standard renderer, btw.
What do you guys think?
You may want to consider PBR textures. It should give you the effect you're looking for – patina and corrosion over metal – and small objects like this are perfect candidates for it.
One of these (https://cc0textures.com/list?q=metal) might work.
Thanks Steve, I'll try some.
