Came across this site and thought I would share the link. Haven't seen mention of it here, though I'm sure some here are already familiar with it.

The home page includes links to associated sites with HDRI images and models. All free, all CC0. Haven't tried any yet but the quality looks pretty good.

I like the guy's work, too. Impressive historical environmental art. I looked up one of his tutorials, looks like he uses Blender.
