Title: And now for something completely different
Post by: j meyer on November 26, 2007, 04:12:09 PM
Hope you like it although it's not really a landscape. ;)

Ooh, very cool!  Not only are the forms you achieved interesting, but the color choice and reflections really bring them out.  It makes me think of the kind of thing Apophysis would make.

Was this created in TG2?  If so, how?  COOL!!!

Outstanding. Superb image, great choice of colours and nice lighting. The textures are superb too. Makes me think of Lovesraft!

<Edit> Lovesraft? LOVESRAFT?? What I meant to say was Lovecraft (for those who don't know, he was one of the greatest horror writers of the last century)

Fantastic! As old blaggard said, the shading and the reflections really do the work. Very original concept. Great job!

Thank you very much i'm really glad you like it. ;D

As for the image:it was done in TG2 of course and there is one
b/w image involved, the falcon head symbol and some coarse veining.
The image was used for displacement and masking, but the rings and
all the other displacements are pure TG2 stuff,a mix of functions
and powerfractals .I rendered two passes, one general and
one highlight pass, and combined them  in a layer based image editing
software with a little sharpening and gaussian blur applied.

It's not the first time that someone thinks of HPL seeing one of my pics,
maybe due to the fact that i have a certain interest in this direction, too. ;)

Thanks again y'all,J.

Hey, I got it too, I just couldn't find my copy of the Necronomicon and so couldn't make an intelligent comment.

What's that you say? 'Apparently I still haven't found it'?

;D
