The "convert displacement to scalar or vector" nodes produce very hard edges is there anyway of softening them?
You can use a color adjust, unless the initial displacements ARE very hard, then it won't probably help very much. With vector I don't know.
Thanks - colour adjust doesn't work - edges too hard I suspect!
Maybe a low scale Smoothing filter node before the "convert displacement to scalar or vector". Depends I guess on what is causing the sharp displacements in the first place.
I'm pretty sure both these functions are absolute, what comes out is an exact representation of what goes in. I've never had issues with hard edges, and I'm known for using disp to scalar like it's a religion.
