Title: undercut on the walls of a gorge?..
Post by: alexsunny123 on November 19, 2020, 07:13:25 AM
Hello,

Can anyone please help me make the walls of my gorge (that's australian for canyon) show terrain undercut because of water wearing away the surface??

Also I would like to show the high water mark on the walls in a light colour.

thanks
alexsunny

If you already have the vertical walls of your gorge, add a compute terrain after that, then a surface shader and apply a negative displacement offset (or negative displacement by PF) with a certain altitude restriction (from bottom altitude to a few meters or so above that). Check 'better displacement continuity' in the surface layer.

You could aslo just crunch in the upper walls too. Here's a preset I made for similar.
