Title: Monitors 32 4K or 34 Curved?
Post by: penboack on November 24, 2020, 12:22:21 PM
Hi Guys,

I am trying to decide between two monitors to use with a second computer setup, a Samsung 32" 3840 x 2160 (flat) monitor 32H850 (https://www.samsung.com/uk/monitors/business/uhd-monitor-with-quantum-dot-colours-32-inch-lu32h850umuxen/) and a Samsung 34" 21:9 3440x1440 curved monitor LC34H890WGUXEN (https://www.samsung.com/uk/monitors/business/premium-curved-business-monitor-with-perfect-multi-tasking-viewing-comfort-34-inch-lc34h890wjuxen/)
Has anyone any experience of using curved 21:9 monitors?

I already have a 32" Samsung 3840 x 2160, which I use with 150% scaling in Windows 10, so the screen area is effectively 2560 x 1440.
My initial thoughts are that the curved monitor would likely be less sharp in terms of rendering application menus and obviously images, but would give me more screen space and possibly faster viewport rendering times in some CG Applications.

Thoughts?

I have 21:9 (3440x1440), it isn't curved, but it's hard to go back to anything else. The size is perfect. Can nest two apps on the screen comfortably to work within.
