A 3-1/2 render for this, mostly for the atmosphere. But worthwhile I think. There's just a tad of graininess in the sunrays. I had Defer atmo / cloud on, though.
Very nice rays and terrain. I think the clouds are a bit on the wild side, but changing that would change the rays as well. Did you up the quality of the atmosphere to 32 or 64? That would likely cause the graininess. Shouldn't really take much longer.
Thanks, Ulco - the clouds come from the TG Preset Pack available here, the "ragged storm clouds". I also did a cropped render of sun and rays, still got the graininess, so maybe it's the texture of the clouds in the distance coming through (?) I'll post the project file sans assets in Support for anyone to dissect.
