Title: Matching a 2d reference plate
Post by: james adamson on December 08, 2020, 10:01:33 AM
Hi all.
I have a shot with a timelapse sun. (A real one.) And I want to match Terragen's sun to the position of the plate exactly. Or very closely.
In Nuke my 3d soloution would be to take the plate and project onto a card into the 3d environment making sure my card had the same focal and horizontal apature properties as my camera. (Camera is moving.) How would I do this in Terragen?
Thanks.
James.

Well I found a solution but a very clunky one. Hopefully someone a lot smarter than me has something a bit less cumbersome.
I could not find a way to get a sequence as an image map so I ended up bringing in the relevant frame onto my image map shader setting a keyframe then onto the next place where i needed a keyframe and updated the reference frame onto my image map. I only needed 6 keyframes so thats why I went this route and it works but does anyone know of a more efficient way to match animated terragen elements to a 2d plate? This was just a sun animation so it was very simple.
Cheers.
James.
