Title: Mountains & Lakes - my first finalized TG4 Project
Post by: alexrabbitt on December 13, 2020, 03:19:19 PM
Hi, just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has helped me out on the forums over the last 2 weeks or so as I've managed to finish my first TG 4 Render which I'm very happy with.

If anyone has any CC please let me know, I'm new to the software and would love some pointers to improve.  Thanks!

Beautiful render. My main critique would be (especially for such high res) that it is missing fine details. At a smaller size it would not be much of an issue, but blown up it feels empty without some ground cover/fake stones, and the cliffs could use details as well. However the overall look and feel is spot on ;D

I agree with Cocateho. Some details in the foreground and it's perfect. Really beautiful render!!

Wonderful work. I have to agree to a certain degree, if you look closely at the foreground and the way the (few species) of tree sit on mainly bare rock, I would indeed fill some bare rock with more shrub, or some fallen dead trees, and probably mingle more species between the trees.
Some rock in the world is pretty plain in color, but here some variation would give it more perfection. Perhaps some very dark, almost black patches, and/or some deep green like mosses. Easily accomplished with a few PF's, perhaps some stretched over X and Z like strata (probably best taken through a transform shader set to world).

Yes, some more detail in the foreground would be nice. And maybe a little more variety for the trees; did you only use one species? Otherwise it's beautiful and the smooth water surface is perfect. I also like that it' s a vertical image. Well done.

Oops! I more or less said what Dune has already mentioned. ::)

No more critics - everything is said :)

Overall I like it very much. especially the windpatches on the water. Nice work.

Agree with all above. Just noting that this is a first rendering. What a great start, looking forward to seeing more.
