So far, this is best I've been able to come up with. There are three cloud layers and two image mask but I haven't been able to get the nice detailed areas that I really need for it to look realistic. I'm going to keep working on it though, especially after finals.
did you add depth of field to it??
Nope.
That's really nice. Reminds me of "The Day After Tomorrow". Good job on it!
then what is all the blur for??
Well, there are two reasons for the "blur". The first reason is that the resolution of the image I used as a mask is not very high, so there is less fine detail. The second is the density and sharpness of the clouds. They are not very dense or sharp (in keeping with how a real hurricane looks, at least in some areas) so it looks like there is almost a "blur."
love this.
best space scene I've seen. (there's a poem!)
blur effect is quiet appealing. works for me.
Fine work, nvseal.
Somebody sign this boy up. ;D
This looks quite good :). Try finding a higher-res image map though, and I would also consider working on integrating some of your previous cloud techniques to add some interesting detail to it.
Yeah, I've been trying to find a higher res image. If anybody has one I'd love to see it. And I am looking into some other alternatives for detail. ;D
this is not a complete shot but it should work to some limit...

cool i knew, someone could play with this and go farther nice job nvseal
Very neat work, 'king of orbital renders' ;-)
Perhaps this image would work nicely?

Keep on going, like your images!
