Title: Xenophylum
Post by: RichTwo on January 23, 2021, 04:34:06 PM
Life, perhaps on a world far different than the one we know.  The parent star is a blue supergiant, and this world orbits nearly a lightyear away.  Its companion is a red dwarf.   Because of the intense ultraviolet radiation, The foliage takes on a red color to better absorb it and is able to withstand the damaging effects it would have on Earthly life.  Because of the planet's hydrogen-rich atmosphere content, it appears orangish.  Of course this is sheer speculation.

I like the picture and the composition very much.
Just by the way, and because astronomy and astrophysics are my hobbies: A blue supergiant has so much mass that it will explode as a supernova after a few million years and destroy this imaginary planet, despite a light year distance.
But I agree with your explanations and can understand them, so not at all "sheer speculation". :)
