Title: Out in the country
Post by: cocateho26 on January 31, 2021, 12:21:42 PM
A simple summer countryside theme, for any of those ready for warmer months. Going for a post-thunderstorm look, hence the flooded path. Still tweaking some but the basic look is there.

Yep. Im definitely ready for warmer weather.

This is looking really food so far. Very inviting. Reminds me of a river park not too far from here in the valley.

That's so cool! It looks so natural and calm.

A lovely tranquil scene. Well done.

Not sure if I want to keep the 2 guys or not, although they fit reasonably well I'm not sure it really adds anything.

Not sure, which one, but at least the guys fit in nicely.

I've got the scene mostly how I want it now. The biggest issue I have is in tweaking the atmosphere apparently I ended up with some of the high cirrus clouds  right over the sun, so the lighting isn't as crisp as I'd like. Tried some extra haze to make it look a bit more humid but I think I like the original atmosphere better. Credit to Hannes for the flock of birds.

It's a great scene, but I still have trouble with the almost totally dark/black right side. I don't think you'd see that in reality. Especially if you look at the thumbnail it's very contrasty.

Nice work, interesting composition and scene!
The only thing I struggle with since the first version, is the scale of the grasses on the left. They seem rather big? It makes the road look less wide/big in my eyes.
The dark/black right side is something I'd expect with an exposure for the sky. Perhaps even darker is how it would be generated by a photocamera, I'm not too bothered by it.

Perhaps I'd like to compare renders more to visual 'reality' than photo's (with their restrictions). If the latter, then it would be quite like that, indeed.

The last one is really almost perfect in my eyes. I like the realism of the quite dark right side. Looking at it for a while it makes my eyes get used to it as in reality too.

Thanks guys, I got distracted from TG being pretty busy but here's my new version... Changed up the clouds and got the high cirrus out of the way of the sun to go for the brighter look & feel I'd originally gone for, pretty much all else is the same other than the resolution to save time. I think it's really down to preference if one or the other is "better" but I like the brighter look personally.

So do I. Great update. Now one can see more of what's happening on the right too, which was my biggest 'concern'. In the first version I initially thought the fence were a row of trees, now it's very clear.
